Oceans are our most valuable asset.

The ocean is the single largest habitat on our planet. It is a system that is inextricably linked to human survival.

Our oceans provide us with 70% of the planet’s oxygen and regulate the earth’s temperature to make human life possible.

Living without the ocean is simply not viable.

Our oceans are under threat.

Industry Pollution

Over 35% of all microplastic released into the worlds oceans are from the shedding of microfibres from synthetic textiles. By 2050 an estimated 22 million tons of microfibre will have entered our oceans.

Plastic Pollution

8 million tons of plastic enters the oceans every year. Ocean plastic and its contaminants have been found in the deepest part of the ocean causing devastation to marine life. It is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

Ocean Health

Ocean pollution continues to threaten human health, food sources, aquatic wildlife and marine ecosystems. Ocean diversity and productivity is vital for human survival. Our future relies on the health of our oceans.

OUR PURPOSE

TO CREATE A GLOBAL SOLUTION FOR CLEAN OCEANS

OUR MISSION

TO BRING TOGETHER DESIGN, ART AND SCIENCE TO PROTECT OUR OCEANS

We believe that design, art and science are powerful catalysts for change.

Science keeps us accountable, art keeps us connected to the human experience and design influences human behaviour.

Design

At Piping Hot we design with sustainability in mind. Our design process considers the impact of the full life cycle of our products from raw materials to their end of life.

Art

At Piping Hot we work with a community of artists to voice ocean pollution issues and generate awareness around our fight for clean oceans.

Science

At Piping Hot we use scientific frameworks to measure our environmental footprint and impact. We work closely with scientific communities to always advance our product offering to ensure we lead in the fight for clean oceans.

OUR PRODUCTS

100% SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

At Piping Hot we choose materials and production techniques that minimise environmental impact.

We prioritise using recycled materials to conserve resources.

Our sustainability methodology is based on reducing resource consumption as we create necessary circular design solutions.

MEASURING OUR IMPACT

Less Energy

At Piping Hot we source recycled fibres to reduce our carbon footprint and avoid the use of finite resources. Using recycled plastic as a raw materials source offsets using new petroleum to conserve energy. The recycling process uses less energy than production of conventional fibres.

Less Water

At Piping Hot we choose fibres that use minimal water. We are implementing efficient dye processes and treating water waste. No harmful chemicals are being released into waterways and no unnecessary water is used in the production of our products.

Less Waste

At Piping Hot we use recycled materials in our fabrics to divert waste from entering landfill and waterways. We apply circular design principles to allow for end of life recycling of our garments. We actively participate in ocean clean ups to combat the plastic pollution issue at the grassroots level.
